If you’re throwing a Dr. Seuss themed baby shower, here are a few games, in his honor, that are sure to please your guests and have everyone laughing for all the fun they’re having. These games are all based on Dr. Seuss book titles and will be a world of fun.
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish
Fill a jar with Swedish fish and blue gummy sharks. Count them as you put them in. Have guests guess how many red fish and blue fish are in the jar. The one who is the closest wins a prize.
Horton Hatches the Egg
Break your guests up into two teams. Have them race against each other to go to the other end of the room where they’ll blow up a white balloon, tie it off, and then sit on it to bust it. After it bursts, they need to run back and tag the next person to do the same thing. The first team who has everyone complete the “egg hatch” wins a prize.
Make a few dozen deviled eggs and put green food color in the yolk mixture before filling into the white cup shells. Choose a few guests to see who can eat the most deviled green eggs in five minutes. The winner gets a prize.
Horton sees a what?
Elephants never forget, right? Put a dozen baby-related items on a tray like power, a diaper, bottle, pins, aspirator, pacifier, teething ring, etc. Cover with a baby blanket. Gather guests around with paper and pens and then remove the blanket to show the items. No one can touch…only look…for one minute. Tell your guests to memorize as many items as they can. Cover the tray and then have guests write down what they saw. The one with the most correct items wins a prize.
Oh Say Can You Say
Take the labels off ten baby food jars. Using a Sharpie, label each jar with a number 1 – 10. Put the labels away until the end of the game. Place the jars on a table next to each other. Using a pad and a pen, guests will look at the contents and try to guess what is inside. (You could really spice the game up by having tasting spoons and letting guests taste.) When everyone’s had a turn, pull out the real labels and see who has the most correct guesses. Whoever does wins a prize.
Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are?
Take the baby-related items that you used previous. Make sure you know exactly how much you paid for each item (keep the receipt.) Have guests write down the exact amount they believe each item costs. The person with the most correct answers or closest answers wins a prize.
